We, the undersigned Commissioners of Elections for Crockett County, Tennessee, pursuant to law, hereby give notice of a PRIMARY ELECTION to be held in all Voting Precincts of Crockett County, Tennessee on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The PRIMARY ELECTION is called for the purpose of voting for the COUNTY MAYOR, COUNTY TRUSTEE, COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD INCLUDING DISTRICTS 3 AND 5, 4 AND 6, 9 AND 10, AS WELL AS THE AT LARGE POSITION, CIRCUIT COURT CLERK, REGISTER OF DEEDS, COUNTY CLERK, COUNTY SHERIFF, ROAD COMMISSIONERS, AND COUNTY COMMISSIONERS DIST 1-12 (POS 1 AND POS 2).
**FIRST DAY TO PICK UP PETITIONS IS MONDAY DECEMBER 22, 2025, which includes petitions for Independent Candidates for the August 6, 2026 County General.**
(THE OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED ON DECEMBER 24th, 25TH, 26th January 19th and February 16th)
**THE QUALIFYING DEADLINE IS THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2026 AT NOON.
**WITHDRAWAL DEADLINE FOR ANY OF THE OFFICES IS FEBRUARY 26, 2026 AT NOON.
Qualifying petitions must be picked up in the Crockett County Elections Office. Candidates must file a qualifying petition with the Crockett County Elections Office signed by at least twenty-five (25) voters with residence address who are eligible to fill the office. All qualifying petitions must be signed by the candidate.
According to T.C.A. 2-8-113(c), any person trying to receive a party nomination by write-in ballots shall complete a notice requesting such person’s ballot be counted no later than twelve (12:00) o’clock noon fifty (50) days before the primary election. The notice shall be on a form provided by the coordinator of elections and shall not require signature of any person other than the write-in candidate requesting ballots be counted. Forms are available in the Election Commission office.

Federal or Tennessee state government issued photo ID is now required to vote, unless an exception applies. College student IDs will not be accepted. To learn more about the new law and its exceptions, please call the Crockett County Election Commission, 731-696-5465, or visit GoVoteTN.com.
Elderly voters or voters with a disability assigned to vote in precincts wherein the polling place is not accessible may vote at the election commission office on Election Day. Such voter shall complete an affidavit at the election commission office stating that such voter’s assigned voting location, to the best of the voter’s knowledge, does not comply with the provisions of the Public Law 98-435 of the 98th Congress. The affidavit must be received by the county election commission not less than ten (10) days prior to the first election in which the voter plans to vote at the election commission office. AFFIDAVIT must be received by April 24, 2026 as an alternative, an elderly or handicapped voter assigned to vote in a precinct where the polling place is accessible MAY VOTE during EARLY VOTING PERIOD.
